Huzel and Huang originally wrote Modern Engineering for Design of Liquid-Propellant Rocket Engines “on the job” as a means for effectively passing on their know-how to the next generation of engineers. They intended to fill the need they had, as supervisors and lead engineers, for a document they could hand to newly hired engineers to introduce them to the field initially, then serve as a reference later on. With the help of 12 contributors from the Rocketdyne Division of Rockwell International, they have revised, updated and enlarged their “how-to” to include more than 470 illustrations and tables, and cover every aspect of rocket engine design, from components to systems, as it is “done in the industry.”
